An Alliance with the Huron Empire

1. An alliance is a person or a group or rank connect with each other. The word "alliance" has two denotation meaning. The first one is two or more than two countries make league to consist a group. The second meaning is a person or a group or rank connect with each other. In the sentence :"The Hurons were a group of First Nations people who were in an alliance with Champlain." the alliance means the Hurons get together to fight with Iroquois.

2. Champlain wanted to alliance with the Hurons, because this can make he easy to occupy Quebec. His intent is to occupy Quebec to make this land become French colony. If he work together with Hurons, he will easy to finished his occupy. Hurons is a closely related with Iroquois. They are know iroquois very much. Champlain work with Hurons and helped he a lot.

3. In the picture there are two groups of solider fighting with each other. Both of these two groups are holding arrows on their hands. In the left there are no people hurt, but on the right there are several people lie on the ground. Between the two groups of people there is a man holding a gun in his hand and shooting to the right group of soldiers. In front of them, there is a lake. They are in the southern shore of the Georgian Bay. This is a good place to fishing. This region has much different kind of plants: forest, meadows, and field. The soil there has much sand. This sand is good to grow corn, squash, pumpkins, and beans.

1. In this map, I can clearly see this name. This makes me happy, because if I can't see the name very clearly, it will make me confuse, worried about is it the map of St. Lawrence River. In the map I can see the border of the sea and the land very clearly. This is great! This make the reader save worried about the map.

1. I had learn many things in this class since September. I had learn Viking ship, the two explorers: John Cabot and Jacques Cartier, fur trade and exploration. I like this class. In the class I learn many knowledge and it also make me happy. I most favourite lesson is Viking ship lesson. In that lesson, I saw some interesting video. These video described the viking very murderous and atrocity. After I saw these video I feel scare. My most favourite part of this lesson is make viking ship. Everyone in the class are work hard to making their viking ship. In fact, I think my group is the most special group, because our ship is different from other group. Other group's vinking ship is western country's vinking ship, but our ship is dragon ship. Our ship shows the peculiarity of China.

2. My most memorable lesson is making Viking ship. In the lesson all the students work hard to their ship. My group members are also working hard to making the Viking ship. In the first class, we make our plan- how to make and what we have to buy to make the Viking ship. In the weekend we went to the shop to bought the material. Then Candy carved the ship. On Monday, she brought the ship to the classroom. Then Charity and Candy stitching the sails together. Kitty and I are making the life buoy that will hang on the sides of the ship. The next day, Kitty and Candy hand the sails on the mast. I draw a human skeleton that will cover on the sail. When I finished draw, Charity cut down it and covered it on the sail. We almost finished our work. The last day, Candy put the life buoy on the ship. I dye the front and the back sails, I make them red. When I finished, our work were done. We look at our ship, and said: “What a wonderful ship!”

3. Since my life as a student here since September, I had changed a lot. Last term, when I’m in 10B, I working hard everyday. In this term, I am lazy. I didn’t work hard. I always play game and watch TV. I never learn the words and review the knowledge that I learned. I want to study! When I get home I will play and play! I know this is wrong, but I can't stop. Yesterday I saw my mark. It is too low. I understand I have to study. I must to study.

4. My goal for Jun is STUDY! STUDY! AND STUDY! All of my time has to be study. I will use all of my time to study, to fill up the time that I didn’t study in this term. I will do my best in study! I will control myself to study! I won’t play the computer games until I finished homework and review. After study, I also have to practice. I will positive to do my homework. If I have more time, I will find some questions to do.

5. My most proud of in school since September is the Viking ship and recited the poem “snowman”. I proud of my Viking ship, because I work very hard to do this job. In this lesson, I also learn some new thing. Such as: how to do needlework. Before I do this object I never use needle. Then I do this object I wanted to help Charity to sew the sails, because she is too moiling to do this job. Then, Candy told me how to do it. I learned then I can use it. Although I can’t use it very well, I can now. Recited the poem “snowman” is a good memory of me. I try my best to do this job. I read the poem and imaging the snowman. I fond I can feel the snowman’s soul. It wants to see the July, but it never can see it. This is just like you wanted to do something, but you couldn’t. You will feel suffering and sorrow. I imaging I am the bird. When I see the sad pore snowman, what I will feel.

In the middle ages of the Europe. European were already have comfortable life and develop technology, and they also have flourishing industry and commerce. When people already have comfortable life they also wanted to know more about the place they live or even is the world. The European were not exception. Some people want to exploration. They make the king allow their advice, then they starting their exploration. Exploration gave these countries some benefits. It also gave the explorers Honorary and riches this made some explorers indulge in exploration. In fact, exploration didn’t gave the countries that been explored peace and happiness. The European’s explorers just in order to themselves. They didn’t think of other. They just wanted to get riches. They wanted use the easiest and the cheapest ways to get riches, so they are cheat the native people. Such as use knife to exchange fur and beaver. These unfair trade creative misunderstanding and conflict. He sailed to north and entered the Strait of Belle Isle. He sailed into the Bay of St. Lawrence and west coast of Newfoundland and crossed the Bay to the Magdalene Islands and Prince Edward Island, he think both of them are the part of the mainland. Then he went to Choler Bay. At there he saw 50 canoes filled with Micas Indians. They seemed friendly and greeted him with the words napeu tondamen assurtah (we want to make friendship). The next day French and the Micas traded and celebrated. He also met a fishing party of 200 Huron’s, led by their chief, Donnaconna. 1. I won't believe it, because I didn't see it by my self. The map is always wrong. The explorer is already prove there wasn't a Northwest Passage.

2. If I am John Cabot, I heard someone told me the Northwest Passage didn't exist. I will very angry and feel unhappy. I will ask that person does he ever been to China? Does he exploration that there wasn't Northwest Passage? If he say no, I will angry to tell him:" If you don't try you have no chance to arrest other. If you don't try you never no the truth. The second things make me confuse is in the map Asia is close to America！Why？In fact, Asia is far away from America. The South Pole is too big! There are too many mistake inthis map. If someone wants to find a place to use this map, he can't find it.

4. The Northwest Passage suit the goals of the Eurpean explorers because it is the most simple way to go to Asia. If they go to Asia by the Northwest Passage they won't worried about the direction. They just sailing a straight line. Then they will arrived Asia. Northwest Passage suit the goals (agenda) of the Eurpean monarchs because they wanted to get riches, land and other informations quickly.

5. My example of feedback loop: When I'm 5 years old, my mother take me to learn drawing. In fact I didn't have genius of drawing. I 'm not the best student in the drawing class and neither the worst student. Since now it doesn't change. I'm still the medium student in the class. At first I didn't understand why my mother stick to me to learn drawing, but when I feedback I find the answer. My mother don't want me to be a penman, she just wanted me to learn a good behave.

6. I learn a lot in the period of study. I learned 2 explorers: John Cabot and Jacques Cartier. John Cabot is Italian explorer. Jacques Cartier is French Explorer.They are all exploration. Puppet show

1. Our puppet show is about John Cabot. In the show Cabot exploration is Asia, but he didn't know where it is! The sailor is angry with him because Cabot didn't know where Asia is! They sailing until they arrived in Newfoundland. Cabot found there are many cod fish, they bring the fish back to their country. The next year Cabot exploration again, but he fell on a tempest in the ocean, and all the people died in the accident. Later another navigator sailing to Newfoundland, he bring some native people back to their country, but they also fell on a tempest in the ocean, and all the people died in that accident.

2. In our show there are Cabot, a sailor and another navigator. The voice of Cabot and sailor is Helen. The voice of another navigator is me.

Long long ago, when human already made their life comfortable and Industry and commerce are flourishing. They wanted to know more about the world, they want to go to the place that they didn’t know. They decided to go out their country—to exploration. In the exploration they want to find new land and rich. In the end, they didn’t find rich but find some natural resources and new land. This story is one of the European explorer’s exploration . Exploration can give the countries many benefits. It can make the country know more about the world, and develop their science technology. These shows exploration is important for countries, it can make countries rich, it can make countries have advanced science and technology, it also can make the countries peaceful.

John Cabot is a Itailan exploorer.His was born around 1455 in Gaeta, near Naples, and was the son of a merchant. But in 1461 Cabot was living in Venice, where he became a citizen. In about 1482 he married a Venetian woman, Mattea, and they had three sons: Ludovico, Sebastian and Sancio. He sold spices to the eastern Mediterranean, and became a professional mariner. Then, about 1490, Cabot and his family moved to Valencia in Spain because his countryman Christopher Columbus and he wanted to make a group to explore the Atlantic Ocean. The monarchs of both countries wanted to find new way to avoid the Mediterranean and the virtual monopoly on the spice trade held by the Italians. In deeply religious age, Europeans wanted to spread knowledge of Christianity and to sontain spread of Islam. However, neither Portugal nor Spain was interested in John Cabot. They choose him to find the way to Asia-China. In 1497 he arrived in Canada, but he through it is the eastern coast of the Asia. The next year, he arrived in the land that is the eastern coast of the America. He reports the England king that he found a new territory. He found many cod fish at there. He toke some fish back to his country. When he got their country, he became the hero.In the story, Cabot brings the codfish to his country. When he arrived his country, he will tells people where can found the codfish. This can make the country rich.

This week I learn a lot ,and I do lots if things. This week I had some computer classes. That's great! I love computer class, I like use computer. I had a test, but I didn't do well. Actually I did very worse in the exam, very low mark. I felt angry with my self. I promise to myself I will work hard. I have to get the good mark! All in all, this week is smilar to last week. Oh! I within an inch of a very important thing-I found a very good cartoon. It's name is： 黑执事. It is a Japaness cartoon, the plot is excellent and the characters are beautiful!

In the story "Sir Gawain and Green Knight", Sir Gawain is the brave protagonist who is not afraid of face death and keeping him promise by dedicating his life. Sir Gawain is the character who shows his bravery when he killed the Green Knight . He shows his bravery when he struck the Green Knight head. In the story" Gawain swung the axe and struck the Green Knight's neck, cutting his head clear off his body." this conflict shows when Sir Gawain cuts down Green Knight's head, he is quickly without fear and hesitate. This plot indirectly presents Sir Gawain-brave, because he killed a person has to have bravery, when he held the axe and struck Green Knight's head he doesn't say a word and his action is quick, these actions show he is not afraid of killing people, he is not afraid to face death, this prove Sir Gawain is brave. In addition, he is brave even when he keeps him promise by dedicate his life.. In the story he has promised Green Knight to came to Green Knight's castle to dedicate his life. In the climax "Gawain did not try to move away, he just closed his eyes." In fact, he can run away when the castle master helped him, or fight with Green Knight when he swung his axe. If he fights, he maybe has the chance to live, but he doesn't. He just kept his promise to dedicate his life. This shows he is very brave, because he wants to live but he chose to kept his promise. All in all, the Sir Gawain is a brave protagonist. He is a knight who is not afraid of face death and keeping his promise by dedicate his life. In the falling action, Sir Gawain became the bravest knight in the world.

In the story" The Sniper", the Republican sniper is the brave protagonist who is injured very seriously but also continue fighting, and leisurely and carefree having his dinner in the war. The Republican sniper is the protagonist who shows his bravery when he enjoy his dinner in the war. In the story "He had been too excited to eat. He finished the sandwich, and taking flask of whisky from his pocket, he took a short dranght." This rising action shows when everyone is afraid about the war, the sniper is enjoying his dinner. This shows the sniper didn't afraid of the war. Almost all the people are afraid of the war, because war makes people die, and no one wants to die. The sniper not afraid of war, he did not to afraid of death so he can enjoy his dinner at this moment. in addition, he is brave even, if he is injured very seriously" The blood was oozing through the sleeve of his coat." He handles his wound and" lay still for a long tome nursing his wounded arm and planning escape." Hence, it means even if he is hurt serious he also continued fighting. He didn't run away or stop fighting. In fact, if a person was hurt, his first thinking is to run away, but the sniper didn't do it. His resolution shows how brave he is. He quickly handles his wound, and thinking about how to overthrow the enemies. Although he is injured he also thinks how to kill enemies. It shows he afraid of enemies or he is protagonist who is injured very seriously but also continued fighting, and leisurely and carefree having his dinner in the war.

Sir Gawain shows his brave by keeping his promise by dedicating his life. Sniper shows his brave by injured very seriously but also continue fighting. Although they shows their brave in different ways, they also have a common- they are not afraid to face death. People shows brave can in many different ways, some time be brave is just a small thing: admit your mistake, bear legal liability. Sometime be brave is very difficult. In the story “The New Cloth of the King” the king did not wear a cloth, but people didn’t say a word, until little child say it. Except the little child all the people afraid they will punished if they say king did not wear cloth. Brave can shows in many way. In fact, everyone is brave. The different from ordinary people and hero is the thing we shows brave are different. Everyone is brave, everyone can be the hero. If you want, you also can be a hero.

A weekly Study

After a week study, I learn a lot. I learned how to write literary paragraph and liternary essay. I know these the knowledge are in the provincial exam, so I try my best to learn it and wrote it down. I didn't do well, I will work hard and to do best. In this week I had a vocabulary test. 1. In the first picture, Jacques Cartier wear a red hat. He concentrate his attention on looking the right side . He wear a fur warm coat. His left hand petting his coat. There is a nipper in his right hand. His right arm on the globe. It looks like he is thinking something . In the second picture, he is wear a black small hat. He is also look aheat. His right hand hold his sword .His left hand makes a fist. The background is European killing the Indians. These two picture makes me know Jacques Cartier always think, and he is a heartless person.

2. Jacques Cartier was born in St.Malo (France) in 1491. I don't know much of his life before 1534, when he departed on his first voyage. He was looking for a passage through or around North America to East Asia, as some had done before him, and many would after him. He just spend twenty days to crossing the Atlantic Ocean. He landed on an island near the coast of Newfoundland, Breton fishermen always came here. He sailed to north and entered the Strait of Belle Isle. He sailed into the Bay of St. Lawrence and westcoast of Newfoundland and crossed the Bay to the Magdalen Islands and Prince Edward Island, he think both of them are the part of the mainland. Then he went to Chaleur Bay. At there he saw 50 canoes filled with Micmac indians. They seemed friendly and greeted him with the words napeu tondamen assurtah (we want to make friendship). The next day French and the Micmac traded and celebrated. He also met a fishing party of 200 Hurons, led by their chief, Donnaconna. His sons, Domagaia and Taignagny, went to France with Cartier to become interpreters. Cartier explored Anticosti Island and returned to France. When he hard a larg river further to the west, he hope it can go to the northeast. He departed on a second voyage in the next year.

3. He is important in Canadia history because he sailed through the Strait of Belle Isle again, but this time followed the coast westward, and reached the St. Lawrence. He sailed upriver until the Huron village of Stadacona (at the location of Quebec today).

He landed the island and found there is a kinds of plant that national people collected in summer. He gave tobacco to the national people to let the European continue search the land. National people feel surprise to the tobacco, because when they smoke they saw many smoke around him and they think their dream out of them.
